The Statistical Body

We no longer just exist in the form of one physical body, but are constantly accompanied by another ‘statistical body’. Above are examples of the physical vs. statistical body. Estonia is storing its highly confidential data in ‘data embassies’, located beyond the physical land of its country. Babe Ruth, a baseball player has a collection of statistics that he identifies with, one that circulates from one screen to another, to rule his actions.

My statistical body comes in many forms, but the three geometric visualizations were  constructed by mapping my constantly changing allocated IP addresses geographically – either on a given day, or in a given city. The IP address, the email address along with our other digital spaces infiltrate and fragment this notion of singularity that the conventional address implies.
