Sunspring [truly average scifi?]

This is Sunspring – a scifi film written by AI. In a weird experiment, a LSTM (Long Short Term Memory) Recurrent Neural Network – the kind used for predictive text in emails/sms messages – was fed a training set of science fiction screenplays, given a film competition brief and asked to produce an original film script.

screenplayThe result – although often nonsense – is hilarious and disturbing, and perhaps offers a bizarre insight into the tropes of modern scifi.

Thomas Middleditch a wizard – and apparently, so is the director. This was tear-jerkingly funny.

AI screenwriter, not such a genius.
