Back to 1 to 1

Super quick image just to show the idea…

I’ve decided to also draw one of Prouve’s houses so that I can inhabit it myself through the drawing.

I will write some text for tomorrow too.

why do they draw the cars at 1:1?

  4. Natasha Sandmeier says:

Because they need to refine the curves. We visited Pasadena Art Center (with RCA is one of 2 top car design programs). Oddly they draw the cars at 1:1 with BLACK TAPE. so they can cut away until they get the perfect curve. Then they get modelled in clay and shaved and sanded, and refined and sanded, etc etc etc

Anny – it’s great that you’ve gone between unit space and prouve – just having one would have isolated the conversation too much – having both is great.

Also, we know doors, tables, chairs, stairs follow certain dimensions and sizes. Car rules aren’t as uniform so you need to design at 1:1
