Streets have to be responsive, transforming from day to night, from Winter to Summer, from congested Weekdays to derelict Sundays.

Making use of new developed technology of LED embedded paving material, (of which prototype has already be installed in 1 to 1 scale) the “street system” invented in the 1940s,  the relationship between traffic signal, pavement material, kerb and road offset can be redesigned.  The following plan arrangement suggest two scenarios: walking dominant vs vehicle dominant on three typologies: a)the canopy, b)curtain and c)artificial system respectively. Signalling of the paving becomes new demarcation for users.
